Lohan Case Back in Court Over Lying Allegations
DEL AIRE, Calif. (KTLA) — After firing her attorney and then trying to get her back, it remains unclear who will represent Lindsay Lohan in court on Tuesday morning.
The actress, 26, is not expected to attend an 8:30 a.m. hearing stemming from a car crash on Pacific Coast Highway last summer.
Lohan was put on probation after she was convicted in 2011 on charges related to the theft of a necklace.
But then last summer, she crashed her car in Santa Monica and allegedly lied to police about being behind the wheel, saying her assistant was driving.
The Santa Monica city attorney slapped her with four misdemeanor charges, prompting an L.A. County Superior Court commissioner to revoke her probation last month.
TMZ reports that Lohan could have avoided jail time by accepting a plea deal to go to rehab for six months.
Instead, she blindsided attorney Shawn Chapman Holley — who was in the process of hammering out that deal — by firing her on Monday.
The case is just one in a long list of legal trouble for the actress, who has been in and out of court 19 times and to rehab facilities five times since 2007.
In November, she was charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly punching a woman at a Manhattan nightclub.
Earlier this month, prosecutors in New York said they weren’t ready to bring charges against Lohan in connection with the incident.
