Homicide at Suburban Hospital

Update, 2:45 p.m.:
The lockdown has been lifted, after police said they didn't believe the suspect was inside. Police said the homicide victim is a 40 year old male employee who was slain in an area of the hospital that does not hold patients. Police would not identify the victim nor release any suspect information. They also would not say how the man was killed.
Update, 12:35 p.m.:
Suburban Hospital's public information officer Ronna Borenstein issued this statement:
"This morning at approximately 10:30 AM at Suburban Hospital employee was assaulted at the hospital. The hospital is on lockdown and there is a sizeable police presence there. Staff and patients are safe. The emergency room is closed, and visitors and patients should not go to Suburban Hospital until further notice."

Suburban Hospital in Bethesda is on lockdown as police investigate a suspicious death, a Montgomery County police official said.
Earlier, police responded to a report of a stabbing at Suburban, but the police official declined to say whether the stabbing and the suspicious death are part of the the same event.
