PARIS Jackson's reported suicide attempt may have come after she learned sibling Prince may not be her full biological brother. Meanwhile, Elton John and Billy Joel have buried the hatchet at an awards ceremony in New York, Miley Cyrus is having to turn to Twitter to get in touch with dad Billy Ray following her parents' divorce, and Robbie Williams is back, and a little bigger, as he tours the UK for the first time in seven years.
Jackson was allegedly given the news to prepare her for a grilling during the court fight between the Jackson family and concert firm AEG, who they blame for Michael Jackson’s death.
Paris Jackson remains in a Los Angeles hospital after attempting to slash her wrists and downing a significant amount of painkillers on June 5. Sources say she could stay in hospital for up to a month where she has been undergoing “intense treatment”.
Billy Joel and Elton John have finally buried their two-year feud at the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York. After 20 years spent touring together, the piano men famously fell out after John told Rolling Stone that Joel wasn’t getting the help he needed to treat his alcoholism.
“Billy's a conundrum,” said John (the singer has form in this area offering up not-so welcome addiction advice to George Michael, Robbie Williams and Eminem). “We've had so many canceled tours because of illnesses and various other things, alcoholism … He's going to hate me for this, but every time he's gone to rehab, they've been rehab light. When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs.”
Joel countered John’s claims, stating, “He doesn’t know anything about my private life.”
Things thawed at the event when John took to the stage and said, “Mr Joel, I haven't seen you tonight, but I love you dearly.”
Later, Joel took the stage and sent a message back to John, assuring him that all was well.
“Is Elton still here, by the way? We’re OK," he said. “Call me. It’s the same phone number.”
Days after Miley Cyrus’ parents, Billy Ray and Tish, announced they were divorcing, it seems their superstar daughter might be having a few issues of her own with her dad. Cyrus, a prolific tweeter, sent out a personal message aimed at Billy Ray, stating, “Billy Ray Cyrus, since your text and email obviously aren't working would you like to talk like this?”
The 20-year-old fuelled fears of a rift by subsequently uploading a snap of herself in the back of a car with her mum and 13-year-old sister Noah - seemingly in a show of support for her mum.
The former Disney princess captioned the image: “The baddest b**ches in the world.”
Tish Cyrus filed for divorce from Billy Ray in a Los Angeles court last week, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple have three children together and two from Tish’s previous relationship, who Billy Ray adopted.
Tish is seeking custody of Noah and spousal support. Billy Ray launched divorce proceedings in 2010, but the couple reconciled and stopped proceedings.
Robbie Williams has kicked off his first UK tour in seven years, aware that there’s been a few changes since he last stepped on a stage.
“My back is f***** and I am stretching every day to make sure I’m in shape for the tour. I’m well aware I have gone a bit ‘dad-sized’,” he told The Sun in the UK.
“My arms are a bit smaller because I cut down on the weights but I’ve still gone to a place that’s not really Thin White Duke, not that I’ve ever been that.”
Williams, who lamented he “used to look like Harry Styles”, said, “Nobody tells you that you carry on getting thicker and thicker, depending on your DNA. I am slowly turning into my father. There’s no getting away from it, the big 4-0 isn’t far away.”
Williams went on to say he’s a “recluse” and doesn’t like being in big crowds, much preferring to stay home with his wife, Ayda, and baby daughter, Teddy.
