FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Democrats have filed an ethics complaint against Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer for using a state account to buy a refrigerator for his home. The complaint filed Tuesday also says Farmer, who has headed the department since 2004, has used his state vehicle for personal use “for almost eight years” and did not report the mileage. Agriculture Department spokesman Ted Sloan declined to comment on the complaint Tuesday. Farmer spokesman Bill Clary told The Courier-Journal last month that two refrigerators were bought with a state credit card. Clary says Farmer used one when he worked from home, but it has been returned to the office. Clary said the other fridge had not been located.
