Thanks 2 ALL the actual ARTISTS from around the WORLD sending us dubs!!!! Too bad NO ONE in NEW ENGLAND will hear em ...NO disrespect to those who deserve it (gil...4 real, uve been nothing but supportive) but seriously wtf????????? we have the LOVE & respect from the GODFATHER of american d&b, enough to put us on the 1ST stateside D&B label EVER, get flown out to places w/ actual SCENES, yet in our own backyard get treated like someones smelly cousin.....WTF?!!!! Odi...ive never heard something MORE true then what u said about NE being the ONLY scene based COMPLETELY on POLITICS!!!!! Ironic how we (new england) went from one of the 1st/STRONGEST scenes in america to.....a half filled bar ocupied w/ trainwrecking 1999 techstep dj's & their "friends" If your a "promoter" arent u in the business of puttin people in the door? Shouldnt it in SOME way b based on GOOD music? I mean, hooking your friends up because they have TALENT & deserve a shot in the spotlight is what throwing events is about but on the obverse if they suck & you put them on to make yourself look better as a "dj" or u want your name on a flyer...... u end up where? ... oh yeah the NEW ENGLAND edm scene.....The sadest part of it all is that NE has spwaned some of the MOST influential artists of all time & if you do a bit of history you'll SEE how many of them either left & went on to glory (Armand V H ((from MANCH-VEGAS do your homework)), Mo7s,LEX) or left our scene for good (joelelectronic....xtra sad because this dude GAVE NE this culture & 90% of you reading this never even heard his name!!!) this rant has been festering 4 quite sometime, not for any PRIDE of mine....the fact of the matter is that the NE edm scene has become a small town high school where everyone fights over there 2nd cousin....What was once a culture based on escapism through music has become peoples tool to be the COOL kid... Funny cuz i remember bitching about a certain promoter "ruining" our scene by commercializing & selling it to the masses but when it comes down to it he @ least booked GOOD artists 2 do so.....Its about time someone says/does something b4 we have NOTHING left..I refuse to let our "scene" become the laughing stock of america that certain entities are making it....if you know who/what i speak of then u are either A) the CULPRIT B) someone who knows the score!! so i present the task of helping the real recognize real & turn this thing around b4 its TOO LATE......

It really is true though. New England once had a scene that held its own in The United States. I mean three thousand people coming to parties in Portland, Maine?
You couldn't get 30 people out in Portland, Maine today.

I have def seen alot of politics around, alot of the cool kid syndrome, a bunch of empty spots (pretty sure flekx witnessed that first hand), tons of bad DJs booked over good ones, tons of ass kissing, too many cops with their hands in the bars pockets, aggressive bouncers, aggressive patrons, blank CD DJs, no more vinyl shops, too many bad drugs, shady promoters with overpriced events and the same old tired headliners, bad venues, the few gems sprinkled around always wind up getting shut down early
if tommy is around again it's all going to be in NH, ME, RI and western MA, way out of the way
that 35$ event is in a giant kiddie arcade after hours 11-6, any parents get wind of that going on and it's history
Nashua or Manchester would be the prime spots to throw parties because they aren't too far of a trek but the interest in EDM is gone, it's too late to turn things around now, any event is sure to lose money so only the low buck clowns will take a chance
it takes so long to get people in the door now, you'd have to have a consistent setup going for 6 months before crowds start coming and no one can afford to lose money for that long
