Irvine Teacher Collapses, Dies in Classroom

IRVINE -- Students and faculty at Woodbridge High School in Irvine are mourning the loss of a teacher and wrestling coach who collapsed and died in his classroom Monday.
A group of students found Kent Bentley, 46, on the ground as they walked past his classroom around lunch time. A staff member tried unsuccessfully to revive him, according to school officials.
Bentley, known as Coach K.J. to students, taught English at the school and had coached the wrestling team since 1999.
The district immediately brought in psychologists to talk to students. Grief counselors were also expected to be on hand Tuesday.
Bentley's mother and father were Irvine teachers, and his wife and daughter are both teachers in the district.
It was not immediately known what caused Bentley's death.
