A huge wind-driven wildfire in Reno, Nevada is threatening hundreds of homes today.

The fire, in the Caughlin Ranch area, has grown to 400 acres.  Thousands of people are without power and at least a dozen homes are already damaged.  Firefighters say the high winds are making it extremely difficult to contain this rapidly growing blaze.

Evacuations are underway in the Ridgeview and Lakeshore Drive areas.  Some witnesses say they've seen homes fully engulfed on Lakeshore Drive.

Please evacuate immediately if you live in  if you live in or near one of these areas.  The City of Reno has set up an evacuation center at Reno High School.  It's open and taking people, as well as pets.

"The worry is that the winds will continue and become stronger later today, " says weather.com Senior Meteorologist Jon Erdman.  "We're expecting gusts up to 70 m.p.h."
