1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Pot Shop Shooting
A police search perimeter has blocked traffic on a portion of Sunset Blvd.
ECHO PARK-- One man was shot dead and another was wounded during a shooting at a medical marijuana dispensary, police said.
Just before 4:14 p.m. Thursday an unknown number of suspects entered the pot shop in the 1300 block of Sunset Boulevard and opened fire, Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations officials said.
Two men were shot in their upper bodies, one of them fatally. The other victim was transported to a local hospital, though his condition remains unknown.
One "known suspect" fled the scene, and police are still searching for him.
Officials say there may be a second suspect as well.
A police perimeter has set up on Sunset Boulevard from Marion Avenue to Douglas Avenue, effectively shutting down traffic on that portion of the busy street.

An employee was slain Thursday night during a robbery attempt at a Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary -- the second killing of the day at a city marijuana store.
The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. at the Hollywood Holistic store in the 1600 block of North El Centro Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Earlier in the day, a worker at a medical marijuana dispensary in Echo Park was killed and another was wounded in an apparent robbery, police said.
An unknown number of suspects stormed into the Higher Patch Holistic Care store at 1302 Sunset Blvd. shortly before 4:15 p.m. and shots were fired, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The shootings come as Los Angeles officials have tried to regulate hundreds of marijuana stores that have popped up amid California's dispensary boom.
[Updated 10:52 p.m.: The victim at the Hollywood store was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.]
