PASADENA (KTLA) -- Rose Bowl officials have announced new tailgating rules at the stadium eight months after two men were stabbed before a USC-UCLA football game.
The stadium, which is used by the UCLA Football team, approved the new Fan Code of Conduct Thursday as a measure to ensure a family-friendly environment for fans before games.
Fans will now be allowed to begin pre-game festivities six hours before kick-off, two hours less than under previous guidelines.
Alcohol will be prohibited in all areas before the game and any drinking games or drinking devices will also be banned from the stadium.
Extra security officers will also be on hand to enforce the new rules, which is expected to cost $10,000 per event.
Those who do not comply with the rules could face a citation or arrest as well as loss of entry to the stadium.
Last December, two men were stabbed when a brawl erupted between two groups of tailgaters after a football was tossed and accidentally hit a car connected with one of the groups. Three men were later arrested.
Two officers were hurt trying to break up the fight.
